Affects CV19 is having on the Beauty and Hair Extension Industry
Hi my name is Charron. I have been a hair extension specialist for 13 years and counting. I absolutely love what I do from every aspect of it; hair, nails, skin and make up. Truly, any aspect of beauty i'm on it!

My nitch is weaves and hair extensions. I proud myself on being self taught. One of my key strengths is being able to watch someone do demonstrate it and I can pretty much got it from there. This is how I have always learned everything I know how to do. That includes cutting and some coloring as well.

When I first started doing weaves, I was wearing Goddess Remy or Velvet Remy hair --which is a beauty supply packaged hair. It was of decent quality and very affordable when I first learned about it in 2006-07.

I launched my business in 2007 where I began doing weaves. It was then I began to really understand the importance of hair quality. It was in 2008 that I discovered Virgin Indian hair and I pretty much never turned back. Over the years, I tried several Indian hair vendors from the famous and most known beauty supplies in Inglewood, California. The major names were Indo Asian hair Lucky and Vince. Prices were very affordable, and so many more then I finally found my own vendor in 2010 and that has been the only Indian hair vendor I have used for the last 10 years.

At one point, I did venture over to the Brazilian hair for a very quick minute, quickly went back to Indian hair as there is no comparison. One of the things many people don't know is that the majoriy of hair in beauty supply stores are from china and usually are full of synthetic fibers and fillers. Definitely not 100% virgin hair which means there are no fillers ,or artifical byproducts in it.

Now let me get to the topic at hand!

My question for you is for those of you who are ordering your hair from China and Asia region, how has the recent epidemic of  the Corona Virus and it coming from China, affected your hair business or you ordering hair for your installs and other hair client needs?

China is specifically facing a major crisis that this pandemic that has caused disruption of the beauty industry. It is
projected major decreases in revenue and sales within all industries, but especially the beauty industry. The concerns within the production factories and other public spaces are of epic portions.

This pandemic has impacted major hair businesses across the United States. One specific region is in the District of Columbia and Maryland. These two states have reported problems obtaining hair material from markets in Asia. Some of their customers are scared to also buy the products as well feeling that the Corona Virus can be affecting the hair. Have any of you that are in the Beauty industry reading this blog experienced this? Please post or comment below. As your experience will help so many others.

The owner of Hairstylist of District Cheveux, a hair care business in Bowie, Maryland. Has shared her experience of how the corona virus has impacted her business. As a stylist, she said she often uses wigs and weaves to fulfill her customers needs. However, Wallace said lately, it has become harder for her to obtain those products from her vendors.

“I just never imagined corona virus would affect me, being in the states, “ she said.”Not Directly as far as being sick, but my business.”
One Stylist said her vendor told her that the corona virus is to blame for the shortage of supplies. Her vendor finally reached out to her and said due to the virus, everyone, I'm guessing, is quarantined and they're not able to go to work.

Another Maryland hair care specialists say they are experiencing similar problems. When they get their hair, they question "is it going to be contaminated? ”

Nail salons, make up salons and anything with in the beauty industry that requires close contact with others is being hit extremely hard and unfortunately this impacts not only the ecomony but also the
clients mental health. Not being able get their hair or nails done is depressing for many who enjoy being able to be pampered.

As a Stylist myself, I can understand and see my business feeling the affects of the corona virus due to the lack of clients being able to get their hair done. Fortunately, I did have a few clients scheduled for this up coming week and weekend--We are all just trying to remain safe, calm and positive.
